When and Where Are On-Demand Exams Conducted?

NIOS On-Demand Exams are organized at regional centers and Kendriya Vidyalayas across India. The exams are scheduled in two main blocks:

Block 1: June, July, August, September 2026
Block 2: January, February, March 2026

Students can choose their preferred dates according to readiness. Passing an On-Demand Exam in June-September 2026 corresponds to the March-April 2026 session, while exams in December-March 2025-26 correspond to the October 2025 session.

Eligibility: Who Can Apply?

The On-Demand Examination is open for:

Students who have failed in one or more subjects in 10th or 12th from CBSE, ICSE, or any state board.
Learners who want to improve marks in specific subjects.
Students who need fast-track results due to career or personal reasons.
TOC (Transfer of Credit) students who want to carry forward passed subjects.

Transfer of Credit (TOC) Facility

If you’ve already cleared some subjects in your previous board exams, you can transfer up to two passed subjects to NIOS. You then need to appear for a minimum of three subjects in the On-Demand Exam. Once you pass, NIOS will issue mark sheets for all subjects, ensuring seamless recognition of your efforts.

Failed Marksheet or Admit Card for 10th or 12th class
Aadhar Card of the candidate
Recent passport-size color photograph
Rent Agreement (if applicable)
Category Certificate (if applicable)

NIOS On-Demand Exam for Math & Physics

Students who have completed their 10th or 12th but wish to upgrade skills or qualifications can appear for up to four subjects. On passing, a mark sheet will be issued (no migration or transfer certificate is provided).

For those who didn’t study Math or Physics in 12th, separate exams are available. This is beneficial for career paths in aviation (pilot licenses) or exams like DGCA and NDA.
